:: Mosaic Classes
I became a fan of mosaics when I learned the craft years ago, as a way of recycling tile from my hand painted tile collection… recycle/re-art! I’m an art enthusiast and believe everyone, yes everyone, has creative abilities. With mosaics, you don’t need to know how to draw or paint… just how to wield a hammer and apply glue. There are some tricks to the craft and I’m ready and willing to share what I’ve learned.
The art of mosaics is ancient and easy! Come learn a variety of methods and have fun at the same time. No experience needed. The studio supplies all the materials, tools, instruction, snacks, and sips! It makes a great night out with friends and to spark your creative fires.
All classes are held at Artascope Studios in South Portland Maine.

Mosaic Occasional Table or Mirror
You will learn the direct method of mosaic in the pique assiette technique. This means anything goes! Broken shards of pottery, beach glass, stones, glass, found objects are all available in our studios to create a unique table top or mirror frame. You will surprise yourself with your own creativity. Class is two evenings.

Paper Mosaic Lampshade
Got a sad lamp? Juice it up with a spiffy new shade. Learn how to apply snips and shapes of color to create a one of a kind piece of art work that will light up an entire room! Artascope Studios has tons of great paper to choose from.

Cement Mosaic Garden Stone
Compliment your garden with style by designing and creating your own charming stepping stone. You’ll learn the reverse embedded mosaic method (sounds hard, but we make it easy) while creating a unique addition to your gardenscape. Choose from our vast array of colorful pieces of sea glass, ceramics and found objects. Or, bring your own meaningful bits for inspiration.

Mosaic Wall Art
Ooooh so very pretty, and you made it yourself? Wow! Create something unique and eye catching for your home. Use a variety of materials, shapes and colors to “paint” a picture with mosaics. You don’t even need to know how to draw! Class is two evenings.

Paper Mosaic Ornaments
Need some new bling for your Christmas tree? This class will provide you with all the materials you need to create gorgeous lightweight paper mosaic ornaments.
