In a bungalow by the beach on the coast of Maine. I find great inspiration living here. The sea, the woods and the sky changing through four seasons provide an endless array of input to the senses. That is, if you are paying attention… and I do, everyday.

:: Modus Operandi
I appreciate art for its own sake, but my design work is primarily based on the functional aesthetic: things that are beautiful as well as useful. Yes, you can have both. I am a big picture person with an eye for detail: tile and mosaics are a manifestation of this trait. I am a vocal convert to the sustainability movement: my studio is completely powered by wind energy and the materials are low-fire for reduced energy consumption; the glazes are lead free; I reuse and recycle.
